Composite decking – Composite decking is a mixture of wood and plastic components which have a number of advantages over traditional tree-only tire materials. Composite resists rot and fading better than traditional wood and has a low maintenance option to cover your deck. Up boards are attached to a traditional decking frame, but is screwed into place, rather than riveted as traditional wood to provide a stable and secure piece of decking.

If you will have any overhang to your deck boards, be sure to add this number to your measurement. Cut your first composite decking board to fit with a circular saw. Cut the outside so the sawdust does not cause a mess or irritate people’s lungs. Set the first deck board in place to double-check that your sizing is correct. Drill a composite screw into each joist under the boards with an electric drill. Install the screws on the edge of the board closest to the house to hide them.

Line up an invisible fastener with the Board at the first bar, so the fastener box sits flat against the bar. Drill a long finish screw through the bracket of the spread at an angle of 45 degrees to attach it to the beam below.  Cut and adjust the other composite decking board. Put the board against the fasteners sticking out of the first board. From one end of the board, hit the tapping block with a sledgehammer to drive the other table in the screws protruding from the first. Screw the second board in place with your composite screws.
